Nanningmap Nanning is a large city in in south China. It has about 6 million people. The city is surrounded by a fertile agricultural region producing subtropical fruits and sugarcane; food processing, flour milling, sugar refining, meatpacking, and leather manufacturing are important in the city. Nanning is a centre for printing and papermaking, and heavy industry is also important—as is the production of building materials, especially cement. In the 1990s the completion of a rail line between Nanning and Kunming (west) in Yunnan province and of railways from Nanning and the port cities of Fangchenggang and Beihai on the Gulf of Tonkin provided the shortest rail transport for southern China to the sea. Nanning subsequently became the railway hub of southern Guangxi.

This is the collection 21 residential towers where we live. We live in building number 21. Each Building has 8 units per floor and have 48 levels for units and 3 underground levels for parking. The single tower we live in average number people is 1,152-2,000 or about 23,000 in this 3 acre complete. There are thousands of compex this size or larger in Nanning. There are also lots of 6 story units everywhere. The grounds are like a park with ponds, streams, playgrounds, and gathering areas.

This was my first visit to this West Central City of about 10 million people. it has a climate simlair to my home in the United State. It has temperate climate with snow in the winter and must less humdity in the air that the southern city of Nanning. it was the first capital of a unifitied China and has a very long history.

The past few weeks have been very busy with vists to four small villages in South China. We took a tour of the Mountian Rice terraces of LongJI Zhi Guang and got out in the some some valley rice patties in 3 villages where Xiu grew up. We also got to take part in a Halloween Parade in Nanning!
