Longzhou Village

This is the village where Xiu grew up. We traveled there cy car after visiting an archaeology site of petroglyphs on a mountain. Haushan Mountains Painted Rocks. We were able view these from a tour boat. To reach the site we traveled on a winch powered ferry boat.  We stayed at euro themed hotel. It was very nice.  Much finer the the Xi’an hotel. We had dinner with xiu's sister long time friend. To me this village felt more like a small American city than anywhere where else in China

Our weeklong trip to Beijing included many parks, temples, the Great Wall of China, and we visited some of the best restaurants in the capital city. Our hotel in Beijing was a smaller one, but it was very clean and conveniently located to what we wanted to see. It even included breakfast each morning. We traveled with two of our friends from Texas and we were a very small to our group just the four of us each day. We would have a driver and they would take us to the place. We wanted to see it usually we would see it on our own and then found them when we were ready to move onto the next location. Occasionally, the guide would be an expert on the area we were looking and they would accompany us.

Xiamen 2026

Details
Category: Xiamen 厦门

We had an extra day in Xiamen (夏门)and we were able to turn it in to a very nice simple tour. We meet a man out side the airport and hen agreed to takes to our free hotel at some distance from the airport. He was not busy that day so we hired him, to show the sights in Xiamen. We toured the beatuful beaches on the Taiwan straights where you can see the Island of Taiwan in the distance. We also got to see a sea bridge that perhaps will one day join Taiwan and the Mainland with a highway and high speed rail. We also visit a Buddhist temple and had lunch at a sea food restaurant where Xiu got to pick out the fish for the meal. Wonder local restaurant. We also visited a small island village where we shopped and meet new people and saw the local historic goverment buildings.
